Estimate your concrete driveway
Your planning estimate
Concrete driveway cost per square foot
The calculator starts with editable installed rates and then applies visible allowances for thickness, finish, reinforcement, preparation, and removal. The average result is the main planning figure; low and high results show normal project variation.
What this estimate includes
The starting installation rate represents forming, a compacted base, ready-mix concrete, placement, and a plain finish. Drainage structures, permits, engineering, snow-melt systems, retaining work, and unusual site access should be priced separately.
New driveway vs. replacement
Replacement adds demolition, loading, disposal, and often extra base work. Those costs remain visible as a separate project-type adjustment instead of being hidden inside the concrete rate.
How much concrete does a driveway need?
Concrete volume equals length multiplied by width multiplied by slab thickness. The calculator converts the result to cubic yards and adds the selected waste allowance. Confirm the final order with the ready-mix supplier.
Before accepting a quote
- Confirm slab thickness and concrete strength.
- Ask whether base preparation and compaction are included.
- Confirm reinforcement, control joints, drainage, curing, and sealing.
- Make sure demolition, disposal, permits, and cleanup are listed separately.
